Snow Day Mentality

Snow Day

Everyone remembers the snow days you prayed for....as a child.  The night before the anticipation hung in the air like the night before Christmas. You were so sure, in your little child heart that you were going to have a snow day, that you busily prepared for it. You hoped that the snow headed towards your state would not take a crazy turn to the north....and miss you completely.

Then early in the morning you were glued to the radio listening to the school closings.  I'm dating myself now...but there was a delight in this simple family activity, waiting with anticipation. 

I remember when my children were younger and a snow day happened, we would put on our snowsuits and play all day. It was exhausting and exhilarating and crazy fun.  I miss those days....but the memories warm me again every time it snows.  Bella, Nico and Juliet are happy to oblige those moments when I want to....once again...play in the snow.
