There are many small lessons in life that escape us if we aren't looking. I asked my puppies to get onto the couch and put them in a sit/stay. Ofcourse, I promised them a treat.....and not just any treat...their favorite treat....GREENIES! For very animated puppies, they showed extraordinary patience waiting for me to take their picture. They wanted to pounce on their bounty....that coveted green smelly bone that they so adore! They also wanted to please me.
Patience...a skill many of us find difficult to manage...but once learned a gift to both ourselves and those in our presence. Kudos to my dear canine friends for once again teaching me with their unconditional love.
Well said!! My dogs have also taught me patience and self control..my female will not respond whatsoever if im yelling or even slightly mad, has taught me to take a step back, take a deep breath and just stop and think for a second before issuing any orders or commands...crazy little 4 legged teachers! We think we are the ones training them but maybe its the other way around...
